Diamond Trilogy

The recent form figures tell a similar story. A fifth, a non-completion, then a string of eighth, eighth, eleventh, and sixth place finishes. That eleventh is the kind of result that raises questions about whether the horse is suited to the level it is currently competing at, even though Class 4 is already firmly in the mid-to-lower range of British racing. Three races at that level, zero wins, zero places. It has raced just one day ago, so it is clearly still being given chances — Dawson's team have not given up on it.

Dawson himself has sent out two winners from his yard this season, which shows the operation is capable of producing results. The honest question is whether Diamond Trilogy will be one of them before the season is out. At seven, with this record, the window is not getting wider. But horses have surprised people before, and the fact it keeps lining up suggests someone in that yard still believes there is a race to be won somewhere.
