Dexter

The horse typically competes at the lower levels of British racing, where he has managed just that one win from 10 attempts. His recent form tells a familiar story. In his last six races, he has finished outside the top two on five occasions, with a pair of third-place finishes his best efforts. He raced just a day ago and is still actively campaigning, but the dry spell shows no sign of breaking. For a horse his age with such a slim record, Dexter represents the reality of racing: many animals never find the consistency or speed needed to win regularly, even once they have tasted victory. He remains in the care of Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero's yard at Oldcastle in Cheshire, a stable that has been far more successful this season with 43 winners to their name. Dexter is simply not their horse, and at this stage of his career, he is unlikely to become one.
