The overall career picture is strong too. Five wins and eight places from 15 races, with a win rate of roughly 1 in every 3, puts Dedicated Hero well above the average. Most horses win somewhere between 1 in 6 and 1 in 8 races across a career; winning 1 in 3 means this horse is consistently competitive and regularly delivered when it matters. Wet or muddy ground brings out the best in it — three wins from six races on soft conditions, a 50% win rate in the mud, compared to a career average of 33%. That is a genuine partnership, not just a convenient booking, and when the same jockey keeps being put back on the same horse, it usually means something is working between them.

Dedicated Hero raced just three days ago and won again — at Kelso, naturally. At seven years old and in the form of its life, this is a horse right at its peak, and if you ever find yourself at a racecourse in the Scottish Borders on a wet afternoon, it would be very surprising not to see this name on the card.
