Decalogue

Trained by Jamie Osborne at his Upper Lambourn yard in Berkshire, Decalogue is at least in good hands. Osborne's team has sent out 47 winners already this season, which speaks to a stable that knows how to get horses performing. For a yard operating at that level, a young horse like this is almost certainly a work in progress — three-year-olds can take time to find their feet, and the fact that Decalogue raced as recently as yesterday suggests the team still believes there is something to work with.

The non-completion in the recent record is worth noting, though without knowing the circumstances it would be unfair to read too much into it. What is clear is that Decalogue has not yet shown the kind of form that suggests an immediate turnaround is coming. Whether a step up or drop in grade, a change of conditions, or simply another outing or two brings it all together remains to be seen. At three, the story is very much still being written.
