Deadly Missile

The numbers tell a story of a horse that simply lacks the speed or class for regular success. At Class 5 level — the kind of race where Deadly Missile typically competes — it wins roughly 1 in every 14 races. Over 19 career starts, the horse has picked up six places alongside that single victory, a record that shows it can stay competitive enough to finish in the frame occasionally, but rarely threatens to win. Jockey Ben Poste, who has ridden Deadly Missile for almost all of its races, has managed a similar win rate of around 6 percent with the horse. Trainer Rosemary Gasson's Balscote yard has had limited success overall this season, making it difficult to assess whether the problem lies with Deadly Missile specifically or a broader run of poor form at the stable. After racing just yesterday, Deadly Missile remains active, though at nine years old and with such a thin record of success, it would not be surprising to see the horse gradually drifting towards the end of its racing days.
