Dawlah

That said, finishing seventh in your first-ever race is not unusual. Most young horses are still learning what racing is about in their early outings, and a single run tells you very little about what a horse might become. What matters is that Dawlah is active — that race was only yesterday — and the team behind the horse is in solid form. Trainer Paul Midgley, based in Westow in North Yorkshire, has sent out 39 winners already this season, which speaks to a yard that knows what it is doing with young horses. Dawlah's next run will be far more telling.
