Darwin's Angel

Jack Kearney has been the regular partner in the saddle, riding Darwin's Angel in six of those races without a win to show for it. That kind of consistency between horse and jockey usually points to a good working relationship, but when neither wins together it starts to raise questions about whether this pairing simply hasn't found the right opportunity yet, or whether the horse needs a change of approach entirely.

What keeps the story alive is that Darwin's Angel is still only three years old and was racing as recently as yesterday, so the team clearly haven't given up. Young horses can take time to mature and find their stride, and two placed finishes at least show there are moments where the horse competes. But until it translates one of those efforts into an actual win, Darwin's Angel remains a horse full of potential on paper and frustration in practice.
