Dark Lucinda

Her only win came at Gowran Park on 5th May 2026, and with just two races to her name that makes her a perfect one from one when she has crossed the line in first. She raced again just yesterday, finishing ninth on that occasion, so the yard will be keen to work out whether that was a blip or simply a tougher test than she was ready for.

She is trained by P Twomey out of Cashel in County Tipperary, a yard that has been in fine form this season with 35 winners already on the board. Having a horse in that kind of environment matters — horses trained by busy, in-form yards tend to be well-prepared and well-placed, and Twomey clearly knows how to find the right races for his string. Dark Lucinda is very much at the beginning of her story, but the early signs suggest there is more to come.
