Daring Heart

Lyons has had an excellent season with 43 winners from the yard already, so Daring Heart will be part of a stable in good form. The recent record—a win, a place, and a fifth—shows the kind of uneven progression you see in young horses figuring out what they're capable of. A fifth-place run sandwiched between two better efforts isn't ideal, but it's early days, and at three years old Daring Heart has time to develop. What matters is that the win came at a course where it has now run twice, and that familiarity may prove valuable if it returns there. Whether this is the start of a winning run or an isolated success will depend on where the trainer aims it next—and whether it can reproduce the form that got it past the post at Down Royal.
