Daretobedifferent has won just once in nineteen races — a breakthrough moment that came at Nottingham back in May — but the three-year-old's form since then has been frustratingly inconsistent. Over the last six runs, the horse has finished outside the top three four times, with its best recent effort a fourth-place finish. That sole win came at a distance of around a mile and a quarter, and the horse does perform noticeably better when given that extra yardage: it wins roughly one in every five races between one mile one furlong and one mile two furlongs, compared to almost nowhere when stepped up into the higher-class company.
