The most striking thing about Dappled Light is what it does at Bath. Three wins from 8 races at that one track amounts to a win rate of 38%, or roughly 2 in every 5 times it turns up there — nearly double its overall rate of 21% across its full career. That is not a coincidence. Some horses simply suit a particular track's shape, gradient, or surface, and Bath has clearly suited this one from early on. Its most recent win came there just five weeks ago, on 13 June 2026, which means Dappled Light is very much in form right now.

That recent form backs this up emphatically. The last six runs read 8-7-1-1-2-2 in reverse order, meaning after a couple of quiet outings, the horse has reeled off two wins and two runner-up finishes in its last four races. That is the kind of sequence that suggests a horse right at the top of its game. It raced just yesterday, so the yard — the trainer Adrian Wintle and his yard based in Westbury-On-Severn in Gloucestershire — are clearly keeping it busy while the form holds.

Wintle's yard has sent out 30 winners already this season, which marks it out as a productive and well-organised operation. The partnership with jockey Finley Marsh has been particularly fruitful — 4 wins from 15 races together works out at 27%, meaning they have won more than 1 in every 4 races as a combination. That is a meaningful number and suggests a genuine working relationship between horse and rider.

Dappled Light began its winning career at Killarney in May 2023 and has competed mostly at Class 6 level, the entry level of British racing, winning 4 of 18 races at that grade. This is not a horse chasing glory at the top of the sport — but at Bath, in the right conditions, it is about as reliable a thing as you will find at the races.
