The most recent form figures — 5, 10, 6, 4, 9, 6 — tell a pretty consistent story. There have been moments of relative promise, like that fourth-place finish, but nothing that has translated into silverware. Sean Quinlan, who rides the horse regularly and has been aboard for six of those seven races, is still searching for a win together with this particular partner. The pair have built up plenty of experience as a combination; the results just haven't followed yet.
Lizzie Quinlan's yard at Bolton Mill has sent out four winners this season, so the stable is clearly capable of getting horses to the track in winning form. Cross Of Redmoor, who typically lines up in Class 4 races — the mid-tier level of the sport — has raced at that grade three times without success. The horse was out just yesterday, so it is very much an active campaigner, and the yard clearly believe there is a race to be won somewhere. Whether that day arrives soon is the question.
