Cricket Hill Denis

What keeps the profile interesting is the context around the horse rather than the horse itself. Trainer Mark Walford, based at Sheriff Hutton in North Yorkshire, has sent out 35 winners this season, which is a solid operation by any measure. That kind of output means Walford knows what a racehorse in form looks like, and Cricket Hill Denis, for now, isn't quite fitting that description. With a run just yesterday, the team is clearly keeping the horse active and looking for a breakthrough — patience is clearly not in short supply.

Zero wins and zero places from three races is a tough ledger, but three races is also a small sample. There are horses that take time to figure things out. Whether Cricket Hill Denis is one of them is the only open question worth asking right now.
