What gives the picture a little more colour is who is doing the training. Donnacha Aidan O'Brien operates out of Ballyroe in County Tipperary, and with 30 winners already on the board this season, this is clearly a yard that knows how to get a horse ready to perform. When a stable is firing at that rate, horses in the string tend to improve — they are being trained well, worked alongside quality companions, and managed by people who understand what racing success looks like. The question for Coolangatta is simply when that environment starts to show up in the finishing positions.

For now, this is a horse with everything still to prove and, at three, plenty of time to prove it. The next run will be worth watching — not because a win looks certain, but because after three races, patterns tend to start emerging. Sometimes the fourth run is where it all clicks.
