The yard has sent out 53 winners already this season, which tells you this is not a stable that wastes entries — when they run a horse, they tend to think it has a genuine chance. A stable firing at that kind of volume tends to know exactly where and when to place each horse for maximum effect, and slotting Confused into a race at Gowran Park six weeks ago proved a smart call.

The recent form of 4-1-4 shows a horse that ran well enough to place on its best day, then dipped in its next outing — not unusual for a young horse still learning the job. Having raced just yesterday, Confused is clearly being kept busy, and that suggests the team likes what they are seeing in the mornings. At three years old, there is every reason to think the best is still ahead.
