The Curragh is where she comes alive. Two wins from five races at Ireland's most famous flat track is a record that speaks for itself — roughly 40% of her races there have ended in victory, compared to one win from three attempts everywhere else. Her first career win came at The Curragh in late June 2025, and she returned to win there again on 23 August. In between and since, she has mixed some ordinary finishes — fifth and sixth in her two most recent outings — with solid placed efforts, suggesting she can run well without always winning but saved her best for the track she knows.

What elevates her story is the grade she has been competing in. O'Brien has described her winning a Group 2 over seven furlongs at The Curragh — Group 2 is one of the top tier of races in Ireland and Britain — and running competitively in Group 1 company, the very highest level the sport offers. A fourth-place finish in the Moyglare, a prestigious race for horses her age, was described by her trainer as a little disappointing, given what the team had expected from her. That kind of honest assessment from a trainer is worth listening to: O'Brien is not a man who sets expectations loosely.

The quotes that surround her paint a picture of a horse with a genuinely likeable character. "Very straightforward and professional" is how O'Brien put it after one win. "So laid-back" and "the very same at home" — phrases you rarely hear about horses performing at this level, where many are high-strung and unpredictable. Her jockey reported that when Composing got to the front, she thought the job was done. That confidence in herself, that switch-off ability, is something trainers spend careers trying to find.

With one race in the past day, she is clearly still firmly in training. O'Brien has spoken about the Moyglare as a target, and after a fourth there last year, the intention seems clear enough: go back and do it properly this time.
