There is not much of a record to dig into yet, but that is the nature of horses at this early stage. One race tells you almost nothing, and plenty of good horses have had unimpressive debuts before going on to better things. What is worth noting is where Company Charge is based. The Naunton yard run by Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies is having a productive season, having already sent out 62 winners this term. That kind of output puts them among the busier and more successful operations in the country, and horses trained there tend to get every opportunity to find their feet and improve. If Company Charge is going to develop into something, it is in good hands to do so.
For now, the honest summary is that there is simply not enough to go on. One run, one fifth-place finish, and a very short wait until we find out more. Worth keeping an eye on.
