Trained by Richard and Peter Fahey at their Musley Bank yard in North Yorkshire, the horse is in experienced hands. The Fahey operation has sent out two winners already this season, and with a young horse like this, the expectation is always that the first run is as much about learning as it is about winning. A fifth-place finish on debut tells you very little — some horses need that initial outing to understand what racing is all about before they start showing what they can really do.
There is nothing in the record yet to get excited about, but there is nothing to write off either. With only one race to its name and a full career ahead, Claret And Blues is very much a work in progress.
