There is not much to judge yet, and that is entirely normal at this stage. Plenty of horses take a race or two to find their feet, and a single sixth-place finish tells you almost nothing about where a young horse is ultimately heading. What does matter is who is watching over its development. Trainer Joseph Patrick O'Brien operates out of Owning Hill in County Kilkenny, and his yard has already sent out 160 winners this season alone — a number that puts it firmly among the most productive operations in Irish racing. Being trained by someone with that kind of firepower means Citrus Springs is surrounded by expertise, good facilities, and no shortage of options for wherever the yard — sorry, wherever the team decides to go next.
At this point, the only honest thing to say is that the story has barely started. Keep an eye on what comes next.
