The career started well, with a first win at Tipperary back in May 2025, and the horse followed that up with another victory at Limerick in October. Two wins from the first four races is the kind of start that gets people paying attention. The recent form figures — 7, 19, 4, 1, 1, reading from most recent back to that Limerick win — tell a more complicated story, though. Those two finishing positions of 19th and 7th suggest the horse has found things tougher in its last couple of outings since the Limerick success, which was now seven months ago. Whether that reflects a step up in the quality of races, or simply one of those flat spells that horses go through, is the question worth watching.
What gives reason for optimism is the yard behind it. Peter Fahey's operation has sent out 14 winners already this season, which means this is a team that knows how to get horses ready to win. Fahey is a trainer who tends to place his horses carefully and pick his spots, so the fact that Chosen Comrade has raced only five times in its career is not necessarily a sign of fragility — it may simply mean the team has been patient and selective. The horse raced just one day ago, so it is very much in the thick of things right now.
Two wins and two places from five races, with a live trainer behind it and more racing to come — there is plenty of story still to be written here.
