What makes Cayman Tai more interesting than those bare numbers suggest is its recent form. The last six runs read 3-9-2-1-2-3, which means after a rough patch in the middle it has rattled off three consecutive top-three finishes. That latest win came at Southwell six weeks ago, on 21 May 2026, and the horse raced again just yesterday — so this is a horse very much in the thick of things right now, not one coasting towards a summer break.

The trainer behind all this is Richard Hannon, one of Britain's most prolific handlers, operating out of his yard in Herridge, Wiltshire. With 118 winners already on the board this season, Hannon's operation is running at full tilt, and a horse like Cayman Tai — busy, placed, occasionally winning — fits the rhythm of a big, active yard perfectly. Regular pilot Joe Leavy has been aboard for 11 of those 28 races together, winning once, which mirrors the horse's overall profile: present, involved, not always victorious.

One quirk worth noting: Cayman Tai has run nine times at Class 4 level, which represents the bread-and-butter tier of British racing, and has yet to win at that grade. Both career victories have come elsewhere. That is a slightly odd stat — you would expect a horse to find its level and win there — but it also means Cayman Tai cannot be written off as predictable. Its first win came at Ffos Las in June 2024, and now another has followed at Southwell nearly two years later. This is not a horse building to anything spectacular, but with its current run of form and a trainer firing on all cylinders, another trip to the winner's circle before the season is out looks well within reach.
