Caturra Rock is a two-year-old still finding its way in racing, having made a single racecourse appearance that ended in a second-place finish. The horse hasn't won yet, but that early placing suggests there is something to work with—plenty of young horses never make it that far. Trained by
Ed Dunlop at Newmarket, Caturra Rock is in a yard that has been firing on all cylinders this season, with 39 winners already sent out. For a horse just starting its career, being in that kind of operation, where the trainer clearly knows how to get young animals competitive, is a genuine advantage. The next few months will tell us whether that debut promise can be turned into a win.
