Trained by Charlie Appleby at Newmarket, Catullus is part of one of Britain's most prolific racing operations: the yard has sent out 121 winners this season alone. His first success came at Great Yarmouth in August 2025, but the real improvement has come in the past few weeks. After a blank run, he bounced back with a win, then a place, then another win at Newbury. That kind of recent form — steady, with moments of genuine success — suggests he is developing into a genuinely capable racehorse rather than a hit-and-miss prospect. At three years old and still active, there is every reason to think the best may still be ahead of him.
