Casheldale Lad is trained by Gordon Elliott at his yard in Longwood, County Meath — one of the most powerful operations in Irish racing. Elliott's team has sent out 209 winners already this season, so they know a good horse when they have one. Elliott himself said the horse has progressed with every run and has kept getting better across the season. Significantly, he mentioned an entry in the Champion Hurdle — one of the most prestigious races in the sport — as a live possibility. He has not raced for around three months now, which means he is due a return shortly. After a season of steady improvement, the question is simply how high the ceiling goes.
