What does offer genuine encouragement is who is standing in Carafinn's corner. Henry De Bromhead's yard at Knockeen in County Waterford has sent out 110 winners already this season — that is not a stable that sends horses out without believing they have something to offer. De Bromhead is one of the most respected trainers in Irish racing, and young horses from his yard regularly take time to find their feet before clicking into gear. Two races at age two is a very short story, and this one is very much still being written.
