Cantilever
Four races, four finishes outside the places, and a best effort of fifth — Cantilever has yet to show much on the track, and the recent sequence of 10th, 13th, 5th, and 10th does not suggest things are about to change in a hurry. The three-year-old has not won or even finished in the top three in any of its races so far, which is a tough start to a career.Based on TrackLab's analysis

Our model's view, based on this horse's career and recent runs
Trained by J A Stack at Golden in County Tipperary, Cantilever at least has solid support behind it. The yard has sent out 12 winners this season, so there is no shortage of ability in the stable — Cantilever simply has not found a way to tap into it yet. Having raced as recently as yesterday, the horse is clearly in active work and the team has not given up on finding a race that suits. Sometimes it just takes time for a young horse to work things out, but on the evidence so far, Cantilever needs to find a good deal of improvement before it becomes one worth following.
