The numbers tell an interesting story. Across his whole career, Camulus wins roughly 1 in every 5 races — a solid enough record. But zoom in on the last few months and the picture sharpens considerably. His first career win came at Leicester in January 2025, and since then he has built real momentum, most recently landing a win at Wincanton on Valentine's Day 2026. Three wins in six races is a hot streak by any measure, and it suggests a horse that has figured something out, or simply found the right conditions and company.

A lot of that momentum has been built in partnership with jockey Charlie Deutsch. Camulus is trained by Venetia Williams, one of the most respected names in jumps racing, operating from her yard in Herefordshire. Williams has sent out 16 winners already this season, which underlines that this is an operation in confident form. It is worth noting that Camulus has typically competed at Class 5 level — the lower end of the racing ladder — and has won just 1 of 8 races at that level, roughly 1 in 8, which is actually modest. The recent wins suggest he is performing near the top of his range, and the team will face an interesting question about whether to test him at a higher grade.

He raced just yesterday, so Camulus is as live a subject as it gets right now — a horse in form, with a trusted jockey and a yard firing well. Worth watching closely.
