That said, Thomas Faulkner's yard at Devauden in Monmouthshire is clearly in decent shape this season, having sent out 17 winners already. Faulkner knows how to get horses winning, so if there's a path forward for Calypso Bloom — whether that's a different type of race, different ground conditions, or simply more experience — he's well placed to find it. She raced just yesterday, so she's very much an active project rather than a finished article.
For now, though, the record is what it is: no wins, no placed finishes, two starts. Plenty of horses take time to click, and with a trainer who is clearly getting results this season, Calypso Bloom's story may not be finished yet.
