Callero

Where Callero has spent most of its time is at Class 4 level — a solid middle tier of racing, not the glamour end but competitive enough that you need ability to be relevant. In four races at that level, the record reads zero wins from four attempts, which starts to paint a picture of a horse that is consistently finding others just a bit too sharp.

What works in Callero's favour is the yard behind it. Gary and Josh Moore, operating out of Lower Beeding in West Sussex, have been in excellent form this season — 99 winners sent out is a serious number, the kind of tally that tells you this is a well-run operation that knows how to get horses to perform. When a stable that productive keeps running a horse, it usually means they believe there's a race to be won somewhere. The question for Callero is simply finding it.
