On that kind of surface he has won 2 of his 7 races — that is nearly 1 in every 3, compared to zero wins from the 21 races he has run in normal or faster conditions. Moore had already spotted this early on, noting that there is plenty more to come from him when there is juice in the ground. He was right. Call Time's first win came at Bath in October 2024, and his most recent at Chepstow in September 2025 — both almost certainly on the kind of surface that suits him. A horse who transforms in the rain is exactly the sort that can catch bookmakers and opponents off guard when the weather turns.

Most of his racing has come at Class 5 level, the bread-and-butter end of the sport, where he has won just 1 from 12 races — roughly 1 in every 12 at that level. His most regular partner in the saddle is David Probert, who has ridden him six times for that single win together, a win rate of about 1 in 6. The yard itself is in decent form this season, having sent out 17 winners, so there is clearly no shortage of confidence around Upper Lambourn.

Call Time has not won in his last six races, and his recent form — finishing sixth, seventh, and tenth in his last three — makes sobering reading. He raced just yesterday, so he is clearly being kept busy. The key question is whether the yard can find him a race on soft or heavy ground before the season turns. When they do, he is worth a second look.
