Call Time

The trouble is that Call Time has now gone a full year without a win. His last success came at Chepstow on 2 September 2025, and since then he has finished third, fifth, tenth, seventh, sixth and third again in his last six races. Most of that campaign has come at Class 5 level—the lower rungs of British racing—where he has won only once in 12 attempts. His most recent run was just a day ago, when he finished third, suggesting he remains active and in the yard's plans. Taylor Fisher, his most frequent jockey, has ridden him in six races and won once with him, a 17% win rate that is respectable but hardly a partnership that stands out.

Moore, based at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, has sent out 17 winners already this season, so the yard is in reasonable form. The trainer has previously suggested there is more to come from Call Time on ground with "a bit of juice in it"—his term for the soft, muddy surfaces where the horse genuinely shines. Until wet weather returns and conditions are right, Call Time will likely continue to plug away at races where, frankly, he struggles to dominate. He remains a horse for the notebook on rainy days, but on firm ground or in current dry spells, backing him is a risky business.
