The interesting thing about Call Me Tara is that she performs noticeably better when competing at Class 4 level, where she has won 3 of 11 races — a rate of roughly one win every three or four attempts. That's solid form at that grade, and it suggests the trainer, Fergal O'Brien, knows exactly where she runs best. O'Brien's Withington yard has been prolific this season with ninety winners already, so Call Me Tara is part of an operation that clearly knows how to get horses to the winner's enclosure. Her current form tells a story of inconsistency — her last six races show a scattered pattern of sixth place, fourth, sixth again, third, and a win before that — but the fact that she raced just a day ago shows she is still active and her the yard believe there is more racing left in her. For a nine-year-old, staying competitive on the track is an achievement in itself.
