The good news is that Caesar Rock is still active and genuinely competitive. His last win came at Tramore on 15 August 2025, just 11 months ago, which means he is not washed up — he is still capable of racing at a level where victory is possible. His recent form shows he keeps finding places: three second-place finishes and a fourth in his last six races is respectable consistency for an older horse. He clearly handles pressure in a race and runs respectably often enough that the yard must believe another win is not out of reach.

Where Caesar Rock genuinely excels is on normal ground. On quick, dry conditions, he has won 2 of his 16 races — a 12% win rate, more than double his overall average. That is a meaningful edge and suggests that when the track is firm underfoot and the going is straightforward, he has the legs to compete with the best on the day. Trainer M F Morris, based at Fethard in Tipperary, has been sending out winners all season, and Ricky Doyle, his most frequent partner, has ridden him in 12 races with a single win between them. At 10 years old, Caesar Rock may be past his best years, but as long as the ground suits and the races are not too hot, there is still a horse in there worth backing.
