Trained by J Butler out of Newmarket — one of the most famous racing towns in the world and home to some of Britain's sharpest yards — Caeruleus is in good hands. The stable has been in fine form this season, sending out 39 winners, which suggests this is a team that knows how to have a horse ready to perform on the day.

At two years old and with only three races under its belt, there is very little to go on — but what there is looks promising. A win at Newcastle so recently means the horse heads into whatever comes next on the back of a confidence boost. The recent form reading 1-3-4 shows a horse still finding its feet but already capable of hitting the front when it matters most.
