Both wins came in quick succession during late summer. The first arrived at Ayr on 27 July, then a second at Thirsk on 7 August — seven weeks ago now. Since that second victory, the form has been inconsistent: a pair of third-place finishes and two eighths make up the recent record, suggesting the horse may have had a rough patch or is still maturing between efforts. That said, Bymiddaytomorrow raced just a day ago, showing it remains an active and regular competitor.

Ed Walker, the trainer, runs one of the busier and more successful yards in Britain — his stable sent out 76 winners this season alone — so the horse is in capable hands. At two years old with wins already on the board and a clear distance preference emerging, Bymiddaytomorrow has the foundations of a useful racehorse. The next step is steadying the form and proving those Ayr and Thirsk victories were not a flash in the pan.
