But there is a puzzle here. Bungle Bay raced just a day ago and came away without a win — it finished eighth in its most recent outing. Before that, it has been placed twice in six races but has not won since October. Once a reliable winner, especially on the Wolverhampton dirt, the horse seems to be struggling to find form away from home. At seven years old, Bungle Bay has given Evans's yard plenty of winners over the years, yet right now it is in the grip of a genuine dry spell. Whether a return to Wolverhampton might spark a revival remains to be seen.
