Broadway Honey

Recent form reads 5-5-–-3-3-5, and those back-to-back third-place finishes hint at a horse that was building towards something, even if the momentum hasn't translated into a win. Racing just yesterday, Broadway Honey is very much an active project — the team clearly hasn't given up on finding the right opportunity.

The stable behind it is worth noting. Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies, based at Naunton in Gloucestershire, have sent out 61 winners this season alone, which is a serious operation by any measure. When a yard is firing at that rate, they tend to know which horses have something to offer and which don't — the fact that Broadway Honey keeps being pointed at races suggests the team believes there's a win in there somewhere. At Class 4 level, where it has run three times without success, the competition is a step below the top tier but still competitive enough. Finding the right race on the right day remains the puzzle. Whether Broadway Honey can solve it is the question worth watching.
