Brewel Hill

There is something to note about Brewel Hill's early career, though. The first win, secured at Gowran Park on 23 July 2022, marked the start of what would become a thin thread of success. Since then, the horse has added just two more victories over the following two years, suggesting a gradual fading rather than a sudden collapse. The recent form — placings at fifth and tenth, a third-place finish among them — shows a horse that occasionally runs competitively but is no longer reliable. Scott McCullagh, who has ridden Brewel Hill most often, has won once from five races together, which is a better win rate than the horse's overall record but hardly suggests a winning partnership.

At this stage in its career, Brewel Hill represents the long middle stretch of the sport: a horse with enough ability to earn its keep and the occasional cheque, but without the class or durability to build on early promise. It is still racing, still trying, and still capable of a place. But the days of regular victories appear to be behind it.
