Recent form doesn't offer much encouragement either. Looking at the last six races, the best result was a third place, sandwiched between a string of mid-field and rear-of-field finishes. The most recent outing came just yesterday, so Brave Move is clearly an active, busy sort — this isn't a horse being nursed back from a long absence, it's one that keeps turning up and keeps falling short.

Jockey Jonathan Burke has partnered Brave Move five times without a win between them, which at least suggests a settled, consistent partnership — even if consistency hasn't yet translated into results. Burke is a capable rider, so the issue almost certainly lies elsewhere. The horse competes at Class 5 level, which is the entry-level tier of British racing — these are the races specifically designed to give horses like Brave Move a chance to win. Going winless at that level across five attempts is a significant challenge, because if you can't win here, there aren't many easier opportunities left to find.

What makes the situation genuinely interesting is the yard behind the horse. Trainer Fergal O'Brien, based in Gloucestershire, has sent out 90 winners already this season — that's a serious training operation with clear ability to get horses winning races. O'Brien knows what a racehorse in form looks like, and the fact that Brave Move remains in training and racing actively suggests the team still believes a breakthrough is possible. Ninety winners in a season means O'Brien has the tools; the question is whether Brave Move can finally become one of them.
