Boskill Borden

The horse remains active, having raced as recently as yesterday, but there is little immediate cause for optimism. Looking at its last six runs, the results tell a blunt story: eighth, seventh, ninth, sixth, and third place finishes, with one race missing from the sequence. Most tellingly, Boskill Borden has not won since that August day in 2023, a drought now stretching back 37 months. When entered in Class 5 races—the lowest grade at most tracks—it has managed no wins from ten attempts, suggesting it struggles even at that level.

Under trainer David Rees at Clarbeston in Pembrokeshire, the horse has been ridden most frequently by Shane Fenelon, but that partnership has yielded nothing: no wins from their 10 outings together. The yard itself is modest but active, having sent out five winners this season. Boskill Borden appears to be one of those honest, difficult horses that turns up race after race without ever quite delivering. It is still being run—which suggests the yard have not given up—but the long wait since its sole victory speaks volumes about its limitations at the track.
