Born To Caledonie

Trained by A L T Moore at Naas in County Kildare, Born To Caledonie was out just yesterday, so this is very much a horse in the thick of its campaign. Moore's yard has sent out three winners this season, which shows the operation is capable of finding the right races for the right horses — the question is whether Born To Caledonie can become one of them. At this stage, though, it has not finished in the top three in any of its four races, which means it has yet to earn a penny in prize money. That is a tough return for any yard to work with.

There is still time for things to click. Four races at four years old is not a long career, and some horses do take a while to find their feet. But nothing in the record so far points to a breakthrough being imminent. The team at Naas will need to find something that suits this horse considerably better than what it has faced up to now.
