Bluestone Lady was in action just a day ago, and looking at her last six races, she has shown the kind of form that suggests her the yard still believe in her potential. There have been rough outings—a twelfth-place finish most recently—but also a respectable fourth and a second-place finish, the kind of mixed results you see in a horse still figuring out what it is capable of. Trainer Phillip Makin, who runs the yard at Easingwold in North Yorkshire, has sent out nine winners this season, so she is in a stable that knows how to get horses over the line.

At two, Bluestone Lady is still very much a work in progress. She has one win to her name and eight more races worth building on.
