Blueaway

The recent form figures tell their own story. A fifth-place finish was the closest Blueaway has come to troubling the places, and since then it has drifted further back, finishing sixth on three occasions before ending up ninth and twelfth in its last two outings. That's a horse that appears to be going the wrong way at the moment, and a twelfth-place finish suggests it was well beaten rather than just unlucky.

Blueaway is trained by Matt Crawley at Newmarket, one of the most famous training centres in the world and home to dozens of yards competing at the highest level. Crawley's team has sent out four winners this season, so there is form in the yard — the horses are winning, just not this one yet. Whether Blueaway finds its level and starts to compete more consistently remains to be seen, but with seven races already under its belt at just three years old, the clock is ticking on what kind of horse it will turn out to be.
