Beorma

The horse has a clear preference for normal ground conditions. On fast, dry ground or wet, muddy ground, Beorma struggles; but when conditions are standard, it thrives, with seven wins from 11 races (a 64% win rate). This specificity matters because it means the form book becomes predictable — enter Beorma when the ground suits and it is a serious player. At Worcester, where it has raced three times, it has won twice, making it a genuine course specialist. That kind of dominance at a single track often says something important about a horse's temperament or running style and the way a particular course plays to its strengths.

Harry Skelton has been Beorma's most frequent partner in the saddle, riding it six times with three wins between them — a 50% win rate together, which is a strong relationship in jump racing. The trainer is Dan Skelton, based at Alcester in Warwickshire, who has sent out 198 winners already this season from a prolific yard. One note of caution: Beorma has not won in any attempt at higher-level races. It has contested Class 1 or 2 races four times without success, which suggests it may have found its ceiling — these are the top races in Britain, and Beorma appears to be a Class 3 or 4 specialist. The horse's most recent win came at Market Rasen on 19 June, four months ago, so while it is racing regularly and running well, it has not quite crossed the line into the winner's enclosure since early summer.
