Bell's Soldier

Bell's Soldier has raced once and finished outside the top three. The 3-year-old, trained by Michael Mulvany at Kells in County Meath, ran nine days ago in what was a debut run. There is nothing yet to suggest what this horse might become — a single race tells you almost nothing about a young horse's future. Mulvany's yard has been in decent form this season with 19 winners, so there is at least some competence behind the training operation. Whether Bell's Soldier will improve on that opening effort and find the form to win remains to be seen.
