The recent form is unforgiving. Over its last six races, Beckistine has finished fourth, eighth, unplaced, sixth, ninth, and ninth again — a sequence that shows no glimmer of improvement or encouragement. It raced just yesterday, which means it remains active and will likely be back out soon. For a horse with this record, every race is almost an exercise in hope rather than expectation.
Trainer M A Molloy's yard in Thurles, County Tipperary has managed four winners this season, so there is some level of success at the stable. Whether Beckistine can ever be part of that winning column seems unlikely at this stage, but the horse remains in work and in the game. Sometimes racing is simply about turning up and giving your best, even when the results show you are outmatched.
