Beach Partee

The record carries a bit of a story. That first win came at Brighton in September 2025, and the most recent came at Lingfield Park in late November of the same year — now eight months ago, which is a gap that will be on every observer's mind. Since that Lingfield win, Beach Partee has gone six races without troubling the winner's enclosure, posting a run of finishes that reads 8-5-4-6-4-4. None of those are disasters — four placings in six races suggests the horse is still competitive — but it hasn't been able to convert. That's the frustrating middle ground a lot of horses occupy: good enough to be there or thereabouts, not quite good enough to get its nose in front.

Where Beach Partee genuinely shines is on normal ground. In nine races on standard conditions, it has won twice — a win rate of 22%, or roughly 1 in every 4-and-a-half races. That's meaningfully better than its overall record and suggests the horse is at its best when the track isn't playing too soft or too firm. Worth noting for anyone keeping an eye on it.

The partnership with jockey Luke Morris is the most striking number in the file. In eight races together, Morris has ridden Beach Partee to all three of its wins — a win rate of 38%, or winning more than 1 in every 3 times they team up. That's a remarkable figure and suggests the two have developed a real understanding. Dixon's yard has been in solid form this season, sending out 33 winners, so the operation is clearly functioning well. Whether Beach Partee can add to its tally — ideally with Morris in the saddle, on a dry-ish afternoon — is the question worth watching. It raced just yesterday, so it's bang in the middle of its season.
