Beach Partee

There are glimmers of something useful here, though. Beach Partee performs notably better on normal ground conditions, winning two of nine races (22%) when the going is standard, compared to its overall win rate. More encouragingly, the horse has a strong partnership with jockey Luke Morris, who has ridden it to three wins from eight races together—a 38% win rate that is substantially above the horse's career average. This suggests Morris knows how to get the best out of Beach Partee and that the partnership is worth preserving. Scott Dixon's Rolleston yard has been sending out winners all season with thirty-three to its name, which indicates a competent operation.

The question now is whether Beach Partee can rediscover form. A horse that typically competes at Class 6 level has won a quarter of its races there (2 from 8), which is respectable for that standard, but the nine-month drought is the real problem. With Luke Morris back in the saddle on normal ground, there may be a pathway back to the winner's circle—but time is running out for this young horse to get back on track.
