Barely Made It

Trained by Colin Bowe at Enniscorthy in County Wexford, Barely Made It runs in a small yard that has managed just two winners all season. Philip Donovan rides him most often, a partnership that has produced five races without a victory. The horse raced just a day ago, showing that despite his lack of success, there's still something worth racing for — whether that's hope of improvement, or simply a place in the racing schedule that suits the trainer's plans. At this stage of his career, Barely Made It is a journeyman, the kind of horse that shows up race after race, tries hard enough to occasionally threaten the placings, but has never quite managed to get his head in front.
