Trained by David Menuisier in West Sussex, Avispado has shown only flickers of promise so far. That fourth-place finish stands out as the highlight in a run of results that otherwise reads 5th, 11th, and 9th — not a horse that has been quietly unlucky, but one that has genuinely struggled to land a blow. Menuisier's yard has hit the ground running this season with 20 winners, which makes Avispado one of the projects still waiting to pay off.
At this stage, the honest read is that Avispado needs to find significant improvement to get off the mark. Three-year-olds can and do make sudden jumps forward, and with an active trainer in decent form, the hope will be that the right race eventually comes along. For now, though, it remains a horse with everything still to prove.
