The recent form reads bleakly: a tenth-place finish just last time out, then a fourth and a second before that, suggesting Asdana stays competitive enough to pick up the occasional cheque but falls short when it really matters. Ridden most often by W J Lee—seven times so far—the partnership has yet to click, with no wins from those seven outings together. The horse is trained by W McCreery at Rathbride in County Kildare, a yard that has found success elsewhere this season with 19 winners to its name, but Asdana has not been the vehicle for much of that success. Still active and most recently in action just a day ago, there is life in the horse yet, though the long drought since Cork suggests it may be punching at or above its true level.
