R Hannon's yard at Herridge in Wiltshire is one of the most productive operations in Britain right now, having sent out 118 winners already this season. That is a remarkable number — it means horses leaving that yard are winning races at a serious rate, and the support staff, expertise, and quality of horses on the gallops is clearly at a high level. Being trained somewhere like that matters. It does not guarantee anything, but it does mean Arjack is being prepared by people who know exactly what it takes to get a horse into the winner's enclosure.

Arjack raced just yesterday, so there is no question about whether this horse is still active and being given opportunities. The team clearly believes there is a race to be won somewhere, and with a trainer operating at this kind of volume, patience and placement are usually well-judged. The question is simply whether the horse can take the next step.
